Meet Raynard Gainey, the heart and soul of the We Achieve Foundation (WAF). As the President and Founder of WAF, Raynard’s dedication and passion have been the driving force behind this noble endeavor.

With a remarkable 25-year career in human services, Raynard brings a wealth of experience and an unshakable commitment to serving the underserved, particularly our youth. Reynard’s journey has been marked by an unrelenting pursuit of positive change. His extensive experience, coupled with a strong educational background, has uniquely positioned him to make a significant impact in the lives of those who need it most. At the helm of WAF, Raynard leads with unwavering dedication. His vision is simple yet profound: to create a brighter future for young people between the ages of 10 and 21 by raising awareness and generating essential funds.

Throughout his career, Raynard has been at the forefront of addressing the unique challenges faced by vulnerable youth populations. His work as a job developer for the homeless exposed him to the critical gaps in addressing mental health issues and addictions prevalent in this population. Through providing counseling services to substance abusers in the LBGTQ community, he gained firsthand insight into the distinct needs of this at-risk group. Raynard’s impact reaches even into the prison population, where he has taught men’s health and substance abuse awareness. This experience illuminated the urgent need for education and empowerment programs to support successful re-entry into the community.

As a foster parent, Raynard personally understands the compassion and commitment required to care for displaced children, especially those with special needs. With over 14 years of specialized experience in opioid treatment and other substance abuse programs within major NYC hospitals, Raynard is a Certified NYS Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. His extensive work in all phases of social services has solidified his conviction that there is always more that can be done to help those in need.

Raynard Gainey, as the President and Founder of WAF, continues to be a beacon of hope and opportunity for underserved communities and the youth the foundation serves.
