The Bronx maintains the unfortunate distinction of having the highest rate of gun violence among New York City’s boroughs, with an alarming rate of 101.8 shootings per 100,000 people.
The impact on the community remains severe, disproportionately affecting young Black and Latinx men, who accounted for 82% of the shooting victims in 2022.
